It's one thing not to like a religion or particular belief system. It's something else to devote your life to trying to destroy it. If someone has enough passion about NOT believing in something that they choose to devote their lives to its destruction then I have to conclude that there is something more going on than a simple disagreement.Arthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10431384008058173664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11007618.post-1122558379886750092005-07-28T08:46:00.000-05:002005-07-28T08:46:00.000-05:00I was raised Catholic and I have tosay that nothin...I was raised Catholic and I have to<BR/>say that nothing is worse than having religion forcefed down your throat. I was touted off to church every Sunday (until 11th grade) and had to endure Sunday school (until the end of 8th grade) and it made me resentful towards the institution of religion. I believe that people should be able to have their own personal relationship with God and doesn't need to go to church to prove his/her belief. Some of the most hypocritical people that I've ever met are avid churchgoers. As long as people believe, that's the most important thing. And no, Jesus does NOT need your money to buy that new swimming pool or mansion on the hill (I know, that's televangelism, but I couldn't resist throwing that in there, I get a chuckle out of that). But I don't knock people that choose to go to Church, either. I'm just saying that it's not for me.Turd Fergusonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03324432622883136970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11007618.post-1122527071159796612005-07-28T00:04:00.000-05:002005-07-28T00:04:00.000-05:00Be it atheist or preacher, whenever one quotes the...Be it atheist or preacher, whenever one quotes the Bible to make a point, they have usually spent quite a bit of time seeking the text that will prove their point. That’s way I believe mainline religions stress the use of a lectionary: then one must exegete the text rather than reading a point into the text via isogesisAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16939152657551690867noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11007618.post-1122503933183916672005-07-27T17:38:00.000-05:002005-07-27T17:38:00.000-05:00People will always destroy what they don't underst...People will always destroy what they don't understand.
